Home lighting 101

1- Install a bathroom wall sconce above the vanity or a wall sconce on either side of the mirror to provide the extra lighting needed to apply makeup or shave. When installing a bathroom wall sconce above a mirror, it should be at least 24 inches long. This length may vary depending on the size of your mirror. The center of the fixture should be installed about 75 to 80 inches from the ground.

2- If you want to install wall sconces on either side of the mirror, you should install them at eye level, about 60 to 66 inches from the ground.

3- You can also choose to install single pendant lights on either side of the sink, or if you have more than one sink, a pendant above each sink. Remember to leave 36 inches between the surface of your countertop and the bottom of the pendant lights.
